Welcome to Want/Need, a weekly roundup of the things our Deputy Editor, Emily Popp, is currently coveting. It might be a pair of pink leather loafers that make her feel like she’s got her s*#t together, or a pool float in the shape of an avocado (because she’s not over the novelty pool float trend). Or maybe it’s as random as, like, dryer sheets. Basically this is all the stuff she’s obsessed with. Poppy’s picks, if you will.
Heyday 75-Minute “Back to Balance” CBD Facial
I think the highest praise I can give Heyday, a facial shop with locations in Los Angeles and New York, is that I convinced my friend who never had a facial in her entire life to get one there—and she became so obsessed that she bought a membership, and now tells everyone she knows about it. Basically, I convert people to the treat-yourself-facial life whenever I get a chance. So when I heard that Heyday was coming out with a limited-time CBD facial, I knew I had to get my face to Heyday (which just happens to be around the corner from where I live in LA—what luck!). Heyday teamed up with CBD purveyor Mowellens to create the 75-minute “Back to Balance CBD Facial,” available exclusively at Heyday’s Los Angeles location. The facial includes all the bells and whistles of Heyday’s typical 75-minute facial, but with a CBD oil massage and a CBD honey mask.
Before I even settled in for my facial, Heyday’s skin therapist gave me a little glass of water with CBD oil in it, which was super relaxing. The facial continued on like a typical one I’m used to, but then things took a CBD turn with the honey mask. The honey mask experience was especially indulgent because it smelled DIVINE, and you’d think honey would feel all sticky and gloopy over your skin, but it actually felt smooth and light as a feather. Full disclosure: I had the urge to lick some of the honey off my face, but even if I gave in to that urge, it would have been okay—the mask is edible! After the honey mask did its work, my face received some extra CBD TLC in the form of a serum, and by the time the “journey” (yes it’s a cheesy word, but it’s how it felt!) was done, oooo my skin was glowing and I was level-ten, put-me-to-bed relaxed. I’ve already told my friend who I converted to a facial-lover about it, and she got the CBD facial this weekend. If you’re in the LA-area and CBD is your jam, I’d highly recommend getting yourself over to Heyday.
Mini Kitty Lint Roller Holder
This cat-shaped lint roller holder is so random, and yet, possibly one of my favorite things. Full disclosure: I’ve always loved the act of lint-rolling. There’s something meditative and relaxing about it, to be honest. And now lint rolling my black skinny jeans is not only relaxing, but thanks to this cat-shaped holder, it’s also freaking adorable.
Liquid Death 12-Pack Tallboys
With a name like “Liquid Death” and a tagline like “murder your thirst,” you’d think that this was some kind of illegal energy drink made of Pixy Stick dust and tar. But no, inside these skull-adorned tallboys is pure mountain water. Yes, “Liquid Death” is water, y’all. I cracked one of these babies open at work the other day, and realized about halfway through that it fully looked like I was drinking beer. But no, it’s 100% natural mountain water sourced from the Australian Alps. It’s the best way to stay hydrated and feel like a give-zero-f*cks badass.
Love by Luna Moon Phase Crystal Candle Set
I feel like the whole crystal craze is really taking off, and it’s something that took me a while to get into…but now I am in it. One of my best friends got me some rose quartz for my desk for Galentine’s Day, and I thought that was such a thoughtful gift. When her birthday rolls around, I think this Moon Phrase Crystal Candle Set is the perfect present for her (hopefully she’s not reading this—or else, spoilers!). But really, this makes a great “just thinking of you” gift for anyone. I love how each moon phase candle comes with a different crystal at the bottom. It’s an amazing two-for-one gift, and I love a twofer.
Pinch x Sugarfina Minimergency Kit
I’ve been a fan of Pinch Provisions for years now, and their “minimergency kits” are one of my go-to gifts. I’m particularly partial to this one, because it’s sparkly and comes in my signature color (millennial pink) AND it comes with gummy lips from one of my all-time favorite candy brands, Sugarfina. Because when it comes to being prepared, you need to have a secret gummy stash on you at all times.
Madeleine Thompson x SG Stripe Knit Jumpsuit
Oooh, how comfy-cozy does this rainbow stripe knit jumpsuit look? I love a jumpsuit because they’re so dang easy. You just slip into it and bam! Outfit complete. This jumpsuit makes me want to curl up on my couch with a cup of tea and a cat…and look fabulous while doing it.
Pradas Glow CAMO Bronzing Skin Enhancer
I take sun protection VERY seriously, but I also like to have a bit of a glow, so I used to swear by my spray tans. But it’s been a while since I’ve gotten one, until the other week when I got spray tanned by renowned celebrity spray tanner Kristyn Pradas, and it was a-freaking-mazing. There’s seriously nothing like getting a sun-kissed glow in the dead of winter. I went to Kristyn pale as Casper the Friendly Ghost and after she worked her spray tan magic on me, I walked out of there feeling like a Victoria’s Secret model. Her line of products, Pradas Glow, are fabulous because they give the perfect amount of golden tan for a natural look that is subtle and even. I love the Camo Bronzing Skin Enhancer, because it smells fabulous—it has a calming scent that isn’t overly perfumed like some fake tanners. I also love that it’s a mousse, because I find faux tanners way easier and fool-proof to apply when they’re a mousse, instead of something runnier and more liquid-y. I’ve had a lot of spray tans in my day, and this one really held up. But why I really love a good faux tan, is because it cuts down on my overall beauty routine. When I have a great glow I don’t need much more in the way of makeup, so I’m out the door super fast.
Auguste Viola Allure Mini Dress
It’s been so freaking cold here in Los Angeles, so I’m including this sweet little mini dress to remind me that warmer days are ahead.
